Just came across An Account of Oracle Registration and Upgrade - Tinkering - LINUX DO by a seasoned user, so I decided to give registration a try, and it worked. Here’s the process I followed:
Picked Brazil as the primary region (it was at the top, so I didn’t look further).Used pinyin for all address and name details, sticking to real information. For bank card verification, used a Ping An VISA card. After the card was charged and credited back, I clicked next and was prompted to set up the account. After some waiting and research, I attempted to create an instance but was told there were insufficient resources for Ubuntu ARM 4c 24. So, I upgraded my account (the verification amount was higher, about 138 SGD) and filled in the required details before awaiting confirmation.
Without waiting for the confirmation, I tried creating the instance again with the same configuration and it succeeded.
After logging in via SSH, I modified the configuration files under /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d and enabled root login by setting the root password. Then, installed宝塔, Docker, and configured inbound rules...
Everything went smoothly; perhaps today was just my lucky day. Give it a go if you’re interested.
