Does raising children really provide security in old age?

My uncle has creatinine 700+. He is in the fifth stage of renal failure, also known as end-stage kidney disease. His condition is not good and he feels nauseous and doesn't want to eat. This situation is quite serious.
As for his children, I don't know how they feel about this. However, both his son and wife are against the idea of dialysis.
I have searched online and found that if you do not undergo dialysis, it's almost like dying. In fact, the main reason why people don't choose dialysis is because they're afraid of spending money on it.
Anyway, I won't go down the same path as them...
