150 million users' passwords lost due to #Chrome browser error

Google has apologized for this issue. The company claims that the problem started on July 24 and lasted over 18 hours, affecting about one million Windows users with the latest version (M127) of Chrome. The affected users were unable to find any saved passwords they had previously stored using the Chrome password manager, nor could they see new ones. Google quickly identified and fixed the issue and advised users to restart Chrome to restore the password management function. If the problem persists, users should contact Google Workspace support for help. Additionally, Google promised to improve software reliability and user support. It is difficult to determine exactly how many users were affected by the password management issue caused by the disappearing passwords.
